Rich in the Bank. Bankrupt in the Body.

Your millions, without health, read as one number. Zero.

There is a man out there with eight figures in the bank and a body that cannot climb one flight of stairs.

By the world’s math, he did everything right. He built the score. He built the balance. He guarded both like his life depended on it.

He was guarding the wrong accounts.

You have three accounts. You only watch two.

The first is your bank balance. The second is your credit score, which is really just your reputation for paying back what you borrowed.

The third account has no app, no statement, no alert on your phone. It is your body. And it is the only account that actually has to clear the cheque when the real bill comes due.

Nobody watches that one. That is exactly why it goes bankrupt in plain sight.

Every meal is a transaction.

This is the part the food never tells you at the register.

Food made by nature, alive, is a deposit. It pays into the account. Food built in a factory, cooked, refined, engineered to sell, is a withdrawal. It pulls out more than it puts in.

And here is the trick that ruins people. A withdrawal does not hurt when you make it. Swiping a card feels free. The meal does not hand you a bill on the spot. The pain is never at the counter. The pain is in the statement, and the statement arrives decades late.

So you spend a lifetime swiping, feeling fine, watching your money grow, never noticing the other account draining one plate at a time.

Debt compounds. So does health.

Everyone knows money compounds. Leave it alone and it grows on its own. What people forget is that the body runs the exact same math, in both directions.

Deposits compound. Eat living food and the return builds quietly, year over year, as energy you never have to earn twice.

But debt compounds too. Every withdrawal you never repaid is sitting in the account collecting interest. That is what a chronic disease actually is. Compound interest on forty years of withdrawals you were told were free.

And most people, when the interest finally shows up, do the worst possible thing. They pay the minimum.

The minimum payment is a trap.

A pill for the pressure. A pill for the sugar. A pill for the cholesterol.

That is the minimum payment on a maxed-out card. It keeps the collector off your back this month. It never touches the balance. The debt keeps growing underneath while you pay, and pay, and never once get closer to zero.

Managing a disease is not clearing the debt. It is renting the disease for life.

Then nature slides the cheque across the counter.

One day the bill comes in full. A diagnosis. A collapse. The slow tax that eventually finds everyone who ran a deficit long enough.

Nature does not care how you feel about it, and it does not offer a payment plan. It slides the cheque across the counter and says, cover this.

Now the cruel rule no accountant can get you out of.

A negative account does not pay a cheque. It bounces.

Two currencies. They do not convert.

Here is where the rich man learns the truth too late.

He reaches for his money to cover the health cheque, the way money has covered everything else his whole life. And for the first time, the counter slides it back.

Money and health are two different currencies, and there is no exchange rate between them. You cannot wire dollars into a body in deficit and watch the balance turn green. The finest hospital on earth can slow the bounce. It cannot deposit health you never saved.

That is why the man with eight figures bounces the exact same cheque as the man with eighty dollars. At that counter, they are equally broke.

Your millions, without health, read as one number. Zero.

I ran my own account into overdraft.

I am not writing this from the outside.

For decades I made withdrawals and called them dinner. I felt rich. Money in, reputation up, life on track. Meanwhile the account nobody checks was quietly sliding into the red, and I never saw it, because withdrawals do not sting on the day you make them.

I got lucky. I caught the statement before nature cashed the cheque. I stopped withdrawing. I started depositing, every meal, no exceptions.

The receipt.

I am 67 years old. I take zero medications. Not one.

That is not luck and it is not good genes. It is an account in surplus, compounding quietly for over fifteen years. Every deposit I made back then is still paying me interest today, and it will keep paying long after the money would have run dry.

That is the one return nobody prints in a portfolio.

The account is still open.

Here is the mercy, and it is the whole reason I wrote this.

Compound interest does not check your age before it starts working. The account is still open. It has been open the entire time.

You cannot undo the old withdrawals. You can stop making new ones today, and you can make your first deposit at your very next meal. Small is fine. Compounding does not need much to begin. It only needs you to begin.

Get back in the black while the cheque is still in the mail.

A full bank account is a beautiful thing. It simply cannot buy back the one balance that has to clear when it matters most.
